A message from the Principal

As the Principal of MacGregor State High School I am often asked what sets this School apart and why it has a reputation for being a great school. I firmly believe it is our very vibrant, supportive and diverse School community — our students, our staff, and parents — that makes the difference at MacGregor. The very multicultural nature of our school community sets it apart from most other schools.
The School is far more than a provider of an academically rigorous education. We think about our students as young adults; we care for them and about them, and we have high expectations of them – and ourselves. As our motto clearly states – The Best We Can Be – is what we will endeavour in all aspects of education. As educators we are constantly searching for new ideas, best practice and the latest research to inform what we provide to our students and how we deliver it. With the mantra of Readers, Writers and Thinkers in year eight to our Honours programme in year ten to twelve we can see how research has encouraged us to extend students in partnership with both Griffith University and QUT.
A MacGregor education prepares young people for a full and active role as global citizens with the skills, confidence and resilience to live and make a difference in an ever changing world.
