Mathematics

The Mathematics Department provides top class teaching and learning, ensuring that all students transition successfully to further education, training and work.

Mathematics involves more than the study of numeracy. We aim to extend the ability of all students to think, reason and work mathematically.

Students gain mathematical knowledge as well as thinking, reasoning and communicating skills. They develop a sophisticated understanding of mathematical concepts and fluency with processes that enables them to pose and solve problems with reasoning.

The study of mathematics will enable students to recognise connections between the areas of mathematics and other disciplines, and appreciate mathematics as an accessible and enjoyable discipline to study.
