Enrolling at our school

Students can apply for enrolment at MacGregor State High School under the following categories:

  • Catchment area: student’s principal place of residence is within the defined local catchment area.  Please refer to the catchment area map​.
  • Non catchment: student’s principal place of residence is outside of the local catchment area however they would like to be considered for enrolment
  • Scholarship Program – Academic, Sporting and Cultural
  • Honours Academic Excellence Program
  • Music Excellence Program 
  • Chinese Immersion Excellence Program
  • Performing Arts – Junior Aspiring CAD (JAC) and Centre of Artistic Development (CAD)

Please be advised that our school doesn’t conduct open days, but does offer school tours and information sessions on a regular basis.

Application for enrolment is via completion of an Expression of Interest form​.  The Expression of Interest form and documentation for our specialist programs are also available from our school office with opening hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Applications for 2020 Excellence Programs will be available from Term 4, 2018.​

Scholarship Opportunities 

Scholarships are offered by MacGregor State High School in the following areas:

  • Academic
  • Cultural
  • Sporting

Students wishing to apply for a scholarship must demonstrate:

  • Academic - strength in academic studies 
  • Cultural - potential excellence in The Arts (Music, Visual Art, Dance, Drama, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music) and/or AMEB Grade 4 or equivalent
  • Sporting - potential excellence in sport (to State/National level)

All scholarship applicants should also demonstrate a strong capacity for involvement in school activities.
