Caltex All Rounder Award – Year 12 Only
This awards is
open to final year students considered to be genuine all rounders – someone who
excels in their studies, possesses leadership qualities and a good attitude,
and is keen to serve their community.
Eligibility is
based around the following criteria: academic, leadership, service, arts, sport
and participation in other areas of school life. The application then requires
endorsing by a member of MacGregor’s teaching staff.
Jack Wong Sue Memorial Bursary – Year 11
and 12
These Bursary
Awards are named in honour of Jack Wong Sue, OAM, DCM, JP, a Chinese Australian
from Perth Western Australia who joined the RAAF in 1943. Jack Wong Sue was a
member of Z Special Unit who landed in Borneo as part of Operation Agas 3 and
was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal.
Eligibility
for this bursary is open to any Year 11 or 12 student, with no discrimination
in regard to race, gender, religion or economic circumstances.
Students
should write a short essay around topic specified on the application form and
respond to two questions.
These two
awards will be presented at the Year 11 and 12 final Spirit Assemblies for
2019.
The University of Queensland Achievement
Award – Year 11 or 12
This award is
open to Year 11 and 12 students who consistently demonstrate academic
excellence as well as school and community leadership. They must also have
upheld the values and beliefs of the school, including behaviour, attendance
and wearing of the school uniform.
Applicants
should also wish to further their studies at a university upon completion of
Year 12.
The Best We Can Be Award – Year 10 Only
This award is
open to Year 10 students who excel in their studies, possesses leadership
qualities, a good attitude and serve their community.
Eligibility is
based around the following criteria: academic, leadership, service, sport and
participation in other areas of school life. The application then requires a
brief statement on the student’s contribution to the school.
Service Award – Years 7 - 12
Service awards
are open to students who have participated in three or more activities within
the school community.
The applicant
must also demonstrate an excellent attitude, attendance and wearing of the
appropriate school uniform for the activity. They must also have upheld the
values and beliefs of the school, especially our ROAR value.
