Enrolling at our school

To enrol at MacGregor State High School External link for 2026 and 2027, follow the procedures outlined for your specific application category. 

Enrolment Categories

• Catchment Area: Students whose principal place of residence is within the local catchment area have priority enrolment. You can verify your address using the Queensland School Catchment Maps External link. Proof of catchment will be required to prove you live within the school's local catchment area e.g. Real Estate Agent lease agreement, recent rates notice or an electricity account.
• Non-Catchment: Families outside the catchment may apply but are requested to pay a non-refundable $50 application fee. Enrolment is not guaranteed and depends on available capacity.
• Sibling: Students whose siblings are currently enrolled at MacGregor State High School, can apply under the sibling enrolment category.

• Programs of Excellence: Selective entry is available for Year 7 students in Academic, Sporting, and Cultural domains. Click here to view the Programs of Excellence Information and Application document. Excellence programs include:
• Academic Excellence Program
• Honours Class (Curriculum stream)
• Enrichment Program (Extracurricular stream)
• Music Excellence Program 
• Performing Arts Excellence Program
• Sporting Excellence Program

• Applications for our Programs of Excellence are now open (please apply using the document linked above). Round 1 applications close on Tuesday 5 May, with Round 2 closing on Friday 7 August.

• Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the school through a highly competitive, merit-based process. Through the Excellence Program application, MacGregor State High School identifies exceptional learners, performers and athletes who demonstrate outstanding achievement and the capacity to contribute meaningfully to the academic, cultural and sporting life of the school. A separate scholarship application is not required, as all applicants are considered automatically.

1. Download the Package: Complete the Enrolment Package (PDF) found on the school's website.
2. Submit Documentation: Required documents typically include a birth certificate and proof of residency (e.g., utility bills, driver's license, or electoral roll verification).
