MacGregor SHS offers a broad curriculum, with opportunities for excellence across academic subjects, sport, and the arts. Students are encouraged to pursue their strengths, challenge themselves, and discover new and unexpected areas of interest.
Applications are now open for 2027 and 2028 enrolments.
Application Process
1. Download the Enrolment Package
Complete the Enrolment Package (PDF).
2. Prepare Supporting Documents
Each student application must include the following supporting documentation:
- Proof of Identity: Copy of the student's birth certificate or passport.
- Academic Records: Copies of the two most recent semester report cards and NAPLAN results.
- Visa Documentation: For students who are not Australian citizens, current visa documentation is required.
3. Submit Documentation
The completed Expression of Interest in Enrolment Application and all supporting documents must be submitted via email to enrolments@macgregorshs.eq.edu.au or delivered to the MacGregor State High School Administration Building.
Applications will only be accepted when the application form, supporting documents, and any applicable out-of-catchment (OOC) fee are submitted together.

Enrolment Categories
The following information outlines the various enrolment categories.
Catchment Area
Students whose principal place of residence is within the local catchment area are given priority enrolment. You can verify your address using the Queensland School Catchment Maps.
Proof of residency is required to demonstrate that you live within the school's catchment area. Each application must include one primary source and two secondary sources of documentation.
Primary Source (Choose One)
- Copy of Brisbane City Council rates notice showing the address and parent/guardian's name, or a copy of the settlement letter if the property has been recently purchased.
- Copy of a residential tenancy agreement from a commercial real estate agency.
- Copy of an RTA Bond Lodgement Form and/or RTA Rental Bond Acknowledgement for private rental arrangements.
Secondary Sources (Choose Two)
- Copy of a driver's licence showing the residential address.
- Copy of a recent electricity account, bank statement, or home and contents insurance document, or a confirmation letter from the provider if recently moved.
- Documentation from a government agency, such as Centrelink or a Tax Assessment Notice.
- Statutory Declaration, witnessed by a Justice of the Peace, from the student's parent(s) or legal guardian(s).
- Statutory Declaration, witnessed by a Justice of the Peace, from the person(s) with whom the family will be residing within the catchment area.
The principal may request additional proof of residency and may conduct interviews with all relevant parties to discuss the student's living arrangements.
Sibling Enrolment
Students who have siblings currently enrolled at MacGregor State High School may apply under the sibling enrolment category.
Out of Catchment
Families residing outside the catchment area may apply, a non-refundable $50 application fee applies. Enrolment is not guaranteed and is subject to available capacity.
Programs of Excellence
Entry is available for Year 7 students in academic, sporting, and cultural domains. Opening and closing dates for the 2028 intake will be released in November 2027.
Programs of Excellence (PoE) will be offered through Rounds 1 and 2. PoE require a non-refundable processing fee of $50.

Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the school through a highly competitive, merit-based selection process.
Through the Excellence Program application process, MacGregor State High School identifies exceptional learners, performers, and athletes who demonstrate outstanding achievement and the capacity to contribute meaningfully to the academic, cultural, and sporting life of the school.
A separate scholarship application is not required, as all applicants are automatically considered.
