In addition to the offering of dance subjects that align with the Australian Curriculum, MacGregor SHS also offers audition entry extra-curricular Dance Performance Teams.
Dance Performance Teams are designed for students to develop their dance technique at an advanced level, leading to performances at various eisteddfods, school events, and our end-of-year dance showcase, Dance Odyssey. These teams provide industry-standard experiences through weekly training sessions, workshops with professionals, and a bi-annual interstate Dance Tour.
MacGregor SHS has a longstanding history of excellence in Dance, with numerous accolades received at Eisteddfods and in the wider community.
Routines covered within our Dance Performance Teams are determined at the start of each year. Examples of offerings include: Jazz, Street Dance (Hip Hop), Contemporary and Musical Theatre.
Auditions for the Dance Performance Teams intake occur across Term 4 and Term 1 each year. Students who audition for dance scholarships will be considered for acceptance into the Dance Performance Teams based on the results of their scholarship audition.
Students with a keen interest in dance performance are encouraged to make their industry mark and entrust their dance legacy within our signature MacGregor SHS Dance Performance Teams.
